International artist Claude Buckley responds to the economic situation.
Although most recognized for his portraits and landscapes, Buckley is making a name for himself with his new series of paintings titled: In America; Reflections into the Soul of Modern Society. In them he personifies the economic crisis of our times. One in this series brought the highest bid for art at the ASID on Broadway Gala Auction; to benefit the AIDS vaccine, November, 2007.
In America was featured by
Interior Design Magazine in their Best of the Year Issue, December, 2007, and on CBS News, November, 2008. More recently, in 2009, the artist’s paintings have been published by Stir Magazine; the Charleston Mercury: April 23, 2009; About Town A-2. About the Artist- A graduate of the University of the South, Claude Buckley is the first Spanish born United States citizen to paint the King of Spain. A portrait of his uncle, the Honorable James L. Buckley, hangs in the U.S. Court of Appeals, in Washington, DC. |
